Careers

Utility Arborist

We are currently hiring an EXPERIENCED utility arborist. Duties would include performing line clearing adjacent to distribution and transmission electrical lines by climbing a tree, from an aerial device, or from the ground. The ability to work with a chainsaw, wood/branch chipper, and related arboricultural tools is required. This position is physically demanding and completed outdoors in all types of weather conditions.

The following certifications are an asset: Class 3 licence, First Aid, WHMIS.

We offer competitive wages and a benefit package including health, dental, RSP plan, cell phone and meal allowances.

Any applicants being considered for the position will be required to provide proof of experience and a driver's abstract.

Job Types: Permanent, Full-time

Pay: $27.00-$36.00 per hour

Utility Arborist Apprentice

Join our team as a Utility Arborist Apprentice! 

We are looking for candidates interested in learning this rewarding and growing trade. This is a fast-paced, physically demanding position completed in all types of weather conditions. Training includes how to properly use a chainsaw, wood/branch chipper, and related arboricultural tools and progresses to learning the proper techniques in clearing vegetation around energized power lines. We offer competitive wages, benefits package, and phone, meal, and clothing allowances.

Candidate requirements:

· desire to become a Utility Arborist

· able to lift and remove large branches and logs

· positive attitude and team player

· able to take direction from a supervisor

· valid driver’s license (documented through a driver’s abstract)

· acquire a Class 3 license within 3 months of the hiring date

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $17.00-$24.00 per hour

Heavy Duty Mechanic Apprentice

We have an immediate position open for a Mechanic Apprentice. Duties would include assisting our mechanics with fleet maintenance for commercial and heavy-duty equipment related to the line and tree utility sectors.  The ideal candidate will be well-organized, hardworking, self-motivated, and possess excellent time management skills.

Salary is negotiable and will be based on experience and qualifications. We offer competitive wages and a benefit package including health, dental, a RSP plan, and a cell phone allowance.

A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driver’s abstract is required.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $17.00 - $24.00 per hour

Current Employment Opportunities:

Heavy Duty Mechanic 

We have an immediate position open for a Heavy Duty Mechanic. Duties would include fleet and preventative maintenance and overhaul/rebuild activities for commercial trucks and trailers and heavy-duty industrial equipment related to the line and tree utility sectors. This position will employ logic and deductive reasoning in diagnosing and troubleshooting. Our successful candidate will be intrinsically motivated and committed to making safe choices when completing all tasks.

The ability to perform alone and in a team environment, to troubleshoot mechanical issues, and to organize work to shop standards is a must. Although this is a full time Monday to Friday position, the successful candidate may also be required to perform mechanical duties on storm calls both in Canada and in the United States.

The following are an asset: Red-Seal Certification, Class 3 license, First Aid, WHMIS, a passport, and experience with welding and fabrication.

Salary is negotiable and will be based on experience and qualifications. We offer competitive wages and a benefit package including health, dental, a RSP plan, and a cell phone allowance.
