The founder of Atlantic Reach Electric, Bobby Hughes, is a third generation lineman who has put his 15 years of experience to good use, along with his partners, David Mallard and Dianne Mallard. For over 5 years, Atlantic Reach Electric has used its knowledge and expertise to perform high-quality distribution, transmission, and substation construction and maintenance services for utilities. Red-Seal Powerline Technicians
The successful candidate must have a Red Seal Distinction. Duties will include: Installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical distribution and transmission systems. Climbing poles and/or operating hydraulic buckets. Ensuring health and safety regulations are followed. Communicating with other workers to coordinate the preparation and completion of work assignments.
2nd year/3rd year Apprentice Powerline Technician
The successful candidates must have at least one year of working experience, be team players, and be eager to learn. This would be a great opportunity for the successful candidate to gain hotline experience and participate in storm restoration. Duties will include: Installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical distribution and transmission systems. Climbing poles and/or operating hydraulic buckets. Ensuring health and safety regulations are followed. Communicating with other workers to coordinate the preparation and completion of work assignments.
The successful candidates must have an arborist ticket or equivalent experience. Duties would include performing line clearing adjacent to distribution and transmission electrical lines by climbing a tree, from an aerial device, or from the ground. The ability to work with a chainsaw, wood/branch chipper, and related arboricultural tools is required. This position is physically demanding and completed outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
